Admission Criteria

Full Admission

  • A four-year bachelor degree in Business Administration (or its equivalent) recognized by the MOHESR
  • A minimum Cumulative GPA (CGPA) of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0 (or equivalent)
  • TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based), (79 internet-based), or IELTS Band 6.0

 

Provisional Admission:

  • A four-year bachelor degree in Business Administration (or its equivalent) recognized by the MOHESR.
  • A minimum Cumulative GPA (CGPA) of 2.0 on a scale of 4.0 (or the equivalent), the student will pledge to score 3 as CGPA of 4 subjects during first 2 terms.
  • TOEFL score is between 500 and 549 (IELTS 5.0, or the equivalent)

When applying for admission to CUCA, the applicant must submit the following documents which will become part of the Student File:

  • An official copies of the Bachelor Degree and Transcript (or its equivalent) attested by the Ministry of Education for the holders of UAE  high school certificate, and the below attestations for the international students from their countries:
    • Ministry of education/ higher education
    • Ministry of foreign affairs
    • UAE embassy.
  • One copy of a current official passport
  • Government-issued identity card.
  • Four recent passport-sized photographs.
  • A non-refundable application and admission fee of AED 3000.
  • Certificate of a Standardized Test of Eligibility in English (TOEFL or IELTS) or equivalent. (Certificates of TOEFL or IELTS are valid for only two years).
  • Official transcripts from other universities and course syllabi for credit transfer (if you are transferring from another university).

 

NOTE:  All documents presented by the applicant for admission purposes become the property of CUCA and will not be returned.

Exemption from English Language Proficiency

Applicants for the MBA Program may be exempted from the requirement for English Language Proficiency (minimum TOEFL  score of 550 or its equivalent) if:

  • The native language of the applicants is English
  • Applicants completed the bachelor degree in their home country or in a country where English is the official language

Provisional Admission

  • A four-year bachelor degree in Law (or its equivalent) recognized by the MOHESR.
  • A minimum Cumulative GPA (CGPA) of 2.0 on a scale of 4.0 (or the equivalent)
  • Students admitted with a CGPA less than 3.00 from their bachelor degree studies may remain in the MA Law program only if they earn a final grade of B (3.0) in the first three courses they register for during their first module of coursework

English Proficiency Requirements

TOEFL score of 450 (paper-based), (45 internet-based), or IELTS Band 4.5

The Professional Diploma in Teachingis a new qualification which combines theoretical studies and practical experience. It equipsstudentswith an integrated academic program which consists of several courses. The program consists of 24 credit hours for the graduates wishing to practice the teaching profession. It qualifies its graduates to teach in governmental and private schools. This qualification is a prerequisite for employment as a teacher in several countries in the region. The program is dedicated to qualifying teachers of Arabic, Islamic studies, social studies, science, mathematics, English, IT or any other field related to education.

  • A four-year bachelor degree in any field (or its equivalent) recognized by the MOHESR.
  • A minimum Cumulative GPA (CGPA) of 2.5 on a scale of 4.0 (or its equivalent).

CUCA accepts transfer of credits, provided:

  • The transfer is from a recognized institution
  • Students must meet the minimum requirements for Admission at CUCA
  • Students transferring from another institution should possess a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.0 or above.
  • Coursework completed elsewhere may be accepted in the appropriate program at the College by meeting the following provisions:
    • The applicant submits an official transcript showing all credits and grades earned along with a detailed description of the courses to the CUCA Office of Admission and Registration.
    • Only coursework at a grade level of B (3.0) or higher will be accepted.
    • Courses should bear at least three credit hours to be eligible for transfer
    • The coursework must be equal to approximately 75-80% of the CUCA course content
    • No more than 50% of the total credits of the program may be accepted as transfer credit

 

NOTE:  Grades of the transfer courses earned at the host institution are not used in calculating the student’s CGPA
