The Finance and Accounting Department at the City University College of Ajman (CUCA) participated in a workshop organized by Active trades, a UK-based financial services company, with offices located in the Dubai International Financial Centre.
The event took place on 20 May at the Cove Rotana Hotel-Resort in Ras Al Khaimah. Dr. Muhamad Jumaa, Chair of the Finance and Accounting Department, accompanied the students who attended with the intent to further develop their capabilities in contemporary investment and financial strategies.
Discussion topics at the workshop ranged from investment and portfolio management in securities to hedging in the financial markets, from both the financial and economic perspectives. Also included was the evaluation and analysis of the many secrets and lessons learned from the financial markets.
Dr. Jumaa later explored the possibility of near-term cooperation with Active trades. They agreed to conduct other workshops on the College campus which could eventually lead to a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with CUCA. The MOU would enable Finance and Accounting students to get extra training at the Active trades facilities in Dubai.
